ReNew Canada has a listing of some of the largest projects funded under the 2009 federal stimulus budget.
Also there is a summary of the list of 1000 "shovel-ready" projects, in total worth an estimated $13 billion, compiled by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM). The largest items are C$2.7 billion for water and wastewater, C$7.6 billion for public transit, and C$2.0 billion for roads and bridges.
The President of the FCM and the Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities have issued an open letter to municipal governments outlining two stimulus programs open to them.
$4-BILLION INFRASTRUCTURE STIMULUS FUND
The $4-billion Infrastructure Stimulus Fund provides funding to provincial, territorial, municipal,community and private sector construction-ready infrastructure projects. The focus is on rehabilitation of existing assets. Eligible projects will need to be built over the next two construction seasons, and completed by March 31, 2011.
$1-BILLION GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE FUND
The $1-billion Green Infrastructure Fund will provide $1 billion over five years for infrastructure that supports green infrastructure projects with a focus on sustainable energy.
