Sure, the design doesn't look web 2.0, but Geospatial One-Stop (http://www.geodata.gov) has been providing access to over 200,000 geographic datasets, services, and apps for the past 5 years... It is listed as 1 tool on data.gov.

I'd be interested to see the site's vision for a growing catalog of content, descriptions of datasets as they are added (what is the role of FGDC CSDGM in this? how will I decide if a datasets is right for me?)

Can I search data.gov from my own client?

What about services? isn't that part web 2.0?
