I
blogged previously about an Autodesk Labs project called
Project Butterfly that allows you to edit AutoCAD drawings over the Web using a Web browser. This week a new version of Project Butterfly has been
released that allows you to georeference and overlay AutoCAD drawings on Google Maps and on geographic imagery and edit and modify drawings in their geospatial context. Project Butterfly's imagery support has been implemented using imagery libraries from the
GDAL Project, which is part of the Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGEO). There's a
Youtube video that shows you how to use Google Maps and geographical imagery with Project Butterfly.
