In May 2008, new regulations for wind turbines were introduced in Denmark that meant that all wind turbines are subject to what is called "type approval." What this means is that new products must undergo a six-month test period, half of which must be winter months. The Danish Wind Turbine Association overseas the testing and issues the certificates. A Danish company called Vindby, which is based in Hornbæk, has released Denmark’s first approved wind turbine for private homes. The turbine is called Vindy 1A and has a capacity of one kW. It is estimated that over ten years it will save approximately €5,300 for the average Danish homeowner.
In May 2009, Vindy became the first approved household wind turbine available in the country. Vindby, which used Autodesk Inventor to develop the Vindy 1A, has just been named Inventor of the Month.
wind turbine is the only one for vertical axis wind turbine. Low noisy and start in low wind speed but the price is expensive.
