Bloomberg has also reported that the cooling system failed at Unit 2 reactor today. TEPCO has said that, as with Units 1 and 3, it is pumping sea water into the reactor. Apparently a TEPCO vice president has said that fuel rods in the reactor “may be” exposed above the water level. If so, then that would indicate a risk of a hydrogen explosion, as has occurred with Units 1 and 3.
At this point TEPCO is flooding all three reactors, Units 1,2, and 3 with seawater laced with boric acid.
Will anti freeze work to slow down the evaporating of the water. it has a high boiling point around 312F.
