At Thursday, March 17 13:08 JST (12:08 am Thursday March 17 ET), NHK reported that TEPCO says it will begin work to install new power lines to restore the plant's cooling systems. The company says it will start work to set up power lines from the high-voltage cables near the plant on Thursday afternoon in an effort to regain power supply.
It aims to restore the main cooling systems which currently use seawater. But it says the pumps, which were doused with sea water, need to be repaired, it is planning to use makeshift pumps to connect with the systems.
