Tue Mar 22, 2011 11:39am EDT, according to Reuters power has been restored to all six reactor buildings and TEPCO has managed to get a pump at one of them operating.
But the situation remains critical. TEPCO is concerned that the reactor core of Unit 1 is overheating. Its core temperatuere is 380-390 Celsius. The reactor was built to run at a temperature of 302 C.
Geoff,
Your work posting this data has been a great help as I try to keep across developments in Japan - thank you.
I imagine that getting power from the grid to the reactors was a pretty well-defined and quantifiable task, albeit under great time pressure. I guess the big unknown is how many reactor systems. particularly 1 through 4, have enough function and system integrity left to make effective use of that power.
