According to Bloomberg, TEPCO has confirmed a third explosion today at its Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear plant.
The company is evacuating workers after the blast at the Unit 2 reactor, and will continue to pump water into the unit, a company spokesman said in a briefing broadcast on public NHK television. The explosion occurred between 6 and 6:15 a.m. JST, the spokesman said.
"It is clear that 40 years ago, the Japanese engineers who designed the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant did not expect a ten meter tsunami, and may not have been even aware that such a tsunami was possible"
