A new reference implementation of an OGC standard hs just been announced. pycsw is an
official reference Implementation of the OGC Catalogue Service for the Web (CSW). CSW provides a standard for publishing and the discovery of geospatial metadata. As its name suggests, pycsw is written in Python. It is certified OGC Compliant.
pycsw is an open source project under an MIT license and supports Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.
