I am at the Year in Infrastructure 2018 conference in London this week. This morning there have been some very interesting announcements relating to digital twins. First of all Greg Bentley announced Bentley's foray into infrastructure digital twins. iTwin Services provides cloud-based support for digital twins and integrates with ProjectWise and AssetWise. Secondly, Keith Bentley announced what I think is Bentley's first open source project. iModel.js, which is hosted on Github, is a javascript library to support web-based visualization and analytics for infrastructure digital twins.
Previously Bentley used open source geospatial components to develop a new front-end for its leading road and rail asset management system AssetWise Lifecycle Information Management solution (ALIM). Bentley also partnered with AGI to support the open source Cesium project.
